Jimmy Dore — comedian, political commentator, and host of The Jimmy Dore Show — argues that the United States is not a democracy but an oligarchy run by a handful of globalist billionaires and corporations, and that both major political parties serve the same ruling class. He traces this through election rigging, war propaganda, media control, and the suppression of dissent, and describes his own journey from atheist materialism to a belief in God through the psychology of Carl Jung.
The US Is an Oligarchy, Not a Democracy
A 2015 Princeton study found that the policy preferences of the bottom 90% of Americans have essentially zero correlation with legislation, while the top 10% have a roughly 50% correlation — meaning the US functions as an oligarchy, not a democracy.
Thomas Massie’s 10-point primary loss in Kentucky, despite no change in his positions, is presented as proof that elections are controlled by money and propaganda, and possibly rigged through electronic voting machines — a claim Dore says was openly discussed by Democrats before 2020 and then became unspeakable.
In California’s “jungle primary,” Governor Newsom openly stated he had a “break the glass” plan to prevent Republicans from advancing if the vote didn’t go the Democrats’ way — an admission, Dore says, that the ruling class will not allow democracy to function if it threatens their power.
Dore compares the US unfavorably to China: in China, the government sits above capital and plans long-term (infrastructure, flying cars); in the US, capital sits above the government, there is no long-term planning, and corporations care only about quarterly profits — resulting in homelessness, medical bankruptcy, and a massive prison population.
The Corporate Surveillance State and the Manufactured “Hellscape”
Dore argues that problems like homelessness in California — which worsened despite $24 billion spent to fix it — are deliberately left unsolved so that people will beg for authoritarian solutions.
The Patriot Act was written before 9/11; Snowden revealed mass surveillance of all texts, calls, and emails; and the proliferation of flock cameras and license plate readers has created a surveillance state comparable to China’s, but with more street crime and slower trains.
He draws a direct line from 9/11 through the War on Terror to the present crackdown on free speech and democratic participation, arguing that every crisis is used to expand control.
War Propaganda and the Function of the Media
Dore says the only thing the oligarchs truly care about is what you think — which is why they own the media and spend billions on propaganda. The best propaganda is the kind you don’t recognize as propaganda.
Michael Parenti, whom Dore considers the real deal (unlike Noam Chomsky, whom he views as a controlled opposition figure with a permanent MIT job), was blacklisted in the 1970s for opposing the Vietnam War — proof, Dore says, that he was telling the truth.
Chomsky’s role, in Dore’s view, is to set the far-left boundary of acceptable discourse — you can go to Chomsky, but not beyond him. Chomsky dismissed questions about who killed JFK and who carried out 9/11, effectively protecting the intelligence establishment.
Russiagate served two purposes: (1) to prevent Trump from being the populist he campaigned as, and (2) to prepare the public for war in Ukraine. Bill Binney, the NSA’s top codebreaker for decades, confirmed on Dore’s show that the DNC emails were downloaded locally (not hacked from Russia) — metadata showed no signs of an outside attack.
Rachel Maddow received a $35 million contract for pushing Russiagate. Even after the Iran war began, she was still blaming Putin — because, Dore says, the narrative must be maintained.
The Syrian gas attacks were propaganda used to justify regime change. Dore and Tucker Carlson were essentially the only mainstream figures saying so at the time. The OPCW later admitted it suppressed whistleblowers.
The current leader of Syria (Jalani) is a former Al-Qaeda head-chopper who now wears a Brooks Brothers suit and meets with Western leaders — proof, Dore says, that the US installed a terrorist organization in power, exactly as he and Tulsi Gabbard predicted.
Libya, Gaddafi, and the Petrodollar
Gaddafi was the most successful leader in Africa, turned desert into farmland, and built a massive water system. He was killed because he was going to create the gold-backed African dinar, which would have threatened the petrodollar, the euro, and Western control of African resources.
Hillary Clinton said “We came, we saw, he died” and laughed. NATO bombed Libya with depleted uranium-tipped bombs, polluting the water and creating a failed state with open slave markets — which persists today.
Gaddafi warned at the Arab League that Libya’s destruction would be followed by refugee floods into Western Europe — and that’s exactly what happened, because, Dore argues, the ruling class wanted those floods to dilute Western cultures and turn populations against each other.
The Two-Party Trap and the Co-optation of Progressive Movements
Dore argues the two-party system is designed to keep people fighting each other instead of uniting against the oligarchy. George Carlin’s observation — 40 brands of cereal, two political parties — captures the illusion of choice.
Bernie Sanders ran in 2016 on anti-oligarch economic populism, and Dore was genuinely moved. But Sanders endorsed Hillary Clinton without extracting a single concession, disbanded his movement, and did nothing with his political organization. In 2020, he did the same with Biden — no public option, no minimum wage raise, nothing.
Dore attended the 2016 Democratic Convention and believed the people were taking the party back. By the 2024 convention in Chicago, it was like a “Stepford Wives convention” — people robotically repeating “we have a process” when no primary had been held and Kamala Harris had simply been appointed.
AOC, in Dore’s view, is a narcissist using politics for celebrity. She ran on Medicare for all but, through the “Force the Vote” campaign, refused to even demand a floor vote on it — despite decades of Democratic agreement that such a vote was needed. When Dore organized the effort, she accused him of “stochastic violence” for exposing her hypocrisy.
Dore’s “Force the Vote” campaign was a watershed moment: it proved that no matter how many progressives you elect inside the Democratic Party, they will not challenge the establishment or keep their campaign promises.
The Function of Protest and What Would Actually Work
Dore argues that protests without concrete demands are PSYOPs designed to channel energy back into the two-party duopoly. The “No Kings” marches, for example, had no demands.
Real power comes from workers shutting down the economy: railroad workers, port workers, truck drivers, grocery store workers, and UPS/Amazon employees not showing up — and then occupying Wall Street. This is what the ruling class fears most.
The truckers in Canada during COVID laid the template, which is why the state overreacted so harshly — calling them Nazis, debanking them — because the oligarchs saw the power of organized labor.
Biden crushed the railroad strike immediately because the railroad is the backbone of capitalism; if workers saw their collective power, the oligarchs would be threatened.
Dore’s concrete demands: publicly funded elections, a six-week election cycle, and no corporate money in politics. He argues this would save trillions currently lost to corporate capture of government.
The COVID Psyop and Big Pharma
Dore was initially pro-vaccine and was himself vaccine-injured. He didn’t realize the extent of Big Pharma’s lies until COVID.
Ivermectin — a Nobel Prize-winning human medicine on the WHO essential medicines list, prescribed a billion times — was deliberately mischaracterized as “horse paste” because it could treat COVID, which would have prevented emergency use authorization for the vaccines.
CNN literally colored Joe Rogan’s skin green when he recovered from COVID quickly — a visual smear to discredit someone who threatened the official narrative.
Chris Cuomo and Don Lemon scoffed at Rogan and ivermectin on air; Cuomo later admitted “they lied to us” — but as a journalist, Cuomo was supposed to investigate, not repeat government talking points.
The phrase “don’t do your own research” is, Dore says, the most anti-intellectual thing a so-called liberal can say — it’s the same logic the Church used to keep people from reading the Bible, and the same logic used to keep slaves illiterate.
There are 72 vaccine shots on the childhood schedule. The first one given to newborns is Hepatitis B — which can only be caught through IV drug use or unprotected sex. Dore argues this was put on the schedule because no one would voluntarily take it, and it’s a revenue stream for pharmaceutical companies.
The FBI, January 6, and the Manufactured Terrorist Threat
January 6 was an FBI psyop. Congressman Clay Higgins exposed that the FBI had assets inside the Capitol before the riot started. The FBI director, when asked how many, refused to answer — when the answer should have been “none.”
The same playbook was used in Brazil with Bolsonaro: a fake insurgency overtakes the capital, then the leader is made ineligible to run.
Nine out of ten domestic terrorist plots in the US are invented by the FBI — the Whitmer kidnapping plot had 9 of 13 people in the van as FBI agents.
Trump, Dore argues, tricked the left into trusting the FBI and CIA — institutions that infiltrate every left-wing organization and have been tools of political repression for decades.
Jimmy Dore’s Spiritual Awakening Through Carl Jung
Dore was a committed atheist (a “Sam Harris atheist”) for most of his life, raised Catholic but never moved by it. His conversion to belief in God came through reading Carl Jung and having a series of powerful dreams.
Jung believed the psyche has a need for the sacred. If you don’t have a genuine spiritual connection, you project it outward — which is exactly what happened during COVID, when liberals turned science into a religion and Fauci into a deity. “Don’t do your own research” is the same as “don’t read the Bible” — it’s religious control.
Jung distinguished between the personal unconscious (your own repressed material) and the collective unconscious (shared archetypes across all humanity). Dore experienced this firsthand: he dreamed of a Mithraic god figure — half-human, half-ape, lion-headed — and weeks later found the exact image in a book, having never seen it before. This, he says, proves we share one consciousness.
Dore’s pivotal dream: he was fishing through dirt in front of his house and unearthed a grimy, oil-covered black cat that should have been dead but was alive and walked away. A Jungian analyst helped him interpret this as the divine/unconscious telling him: “You’re ready to go into your shadow. You’re ready to make the darkness conscious.”
Jung said, “He who looks outward dreams; he who looks inward awakens.” Dore now has weekly sessions with a Jungian analyst and describes himself as one of the most prolific dreamers the analyst has ever encountered.
Key Jungian concepts Dore integrates:
Shadow: The parts of yourself you hate and repress, which you then project onto others. The people who hate Trump most have Trump in their shadow — they’re projecting a disowned part of themselves.
Anima/Animus: The contrasexual archetype in your unconscious. When a man falls in love at first sight, he’s projecting his anima (his soul, his feeling function) onto a woman. When the projections fall off after marriage, he wonders who this person is.
Integration: The goal is not to become a “better person” but a more whole person — integrating the shadow, the anima, and the darkness into consciousness. The “manure” of the unconscious is what makes the “rose” of consciousness grow.
Numinous experiences: Sacred spiritual happenings that occur against your will and take you over. Dore has had direct encounters with the divine and archetypal figures in dreams.
Dore now believes he has an eternal soul, that death is the opposite of birth (not life — life has no opposite), and that the kingdom of heaven is inside you, not external. He quotes Jesus: “You are the light of the world” and “The kingdom of heaven is in you.”
He sees a mass spiritual awakening happening — especially since COVID — as people who were previously consumed by material concerns (career, money, status) are suddenly asking transcendent questions. He connects this to Jung’s collective unconscious: something is rising up in the shared psyche.
The Collapse of Liberal Democracy and What Comes Next
Every liberal democracy in the West is coming apart. They are neither liberal nor democratic — they cancel elections, impose austerity, censor dissent, and prepare for war with Russia.
Dore’s laptop was hacked with Pegasus spyware (a state-level tool) immediately after he spoke at the UN Security Council blaming the West for the Nord Stream pipeline bombing. His IT expert, a former military intelligence operative, confirmed it was a state actor. Dore now carries two phones and assumes everything is compromised — and says if he’s ever arrested or a scandal emerges, it’s because he’s become a real threat.
The ruling class is rigid and incapable of the kind of self-preserving compromise that Teddy Roosevelt and FDR made (FDR created Social Security and the jobs program because he feared a communist revolution). Larry Fink and today’s oligarchs are, in Dore’s view, too stupid and rigid to save themselves.
Dore fears violence is inevitable if the system doesn’t change, quoting JFK: “Those who make peaceful revolution impossible make violent revolution inevitable.” The US has more guns than people, and the government should fear the people, not the other way around.
The only path Dore sees is workers uniting across political lines — right and left — to shut down the economy. He points to Christian Smalls, who organized Trump-voting Amazon workers on Staten Island to take on Jeff Bezos. That’s the model: find common interest in opposing the oligarchy, and work on the other issues later.
He is not calling for violence, but he sees no other mechanism for change within a system where both parties serve the same bosses, elections are rigged, and the media exists only to control what people think.
The Assassination of Charlie Kirk
Dore believes Charlie Kirk was assassinated by a conspiracy — not by a lone gunman (Tyler Robinson) as the official story claims. He lays out numerous inconsistencies:
A .30-06 bullet somehow didn’t destroy Kirk’s head — a “miracle bullet.”
Robinson allegedly disassembled the gun, hid it down his pant legs, climbed stairs with it, reassembled it on a roof undetected for 8–10 minutes (per the governor), made a perfect scoped shot, disassembled it again, left a screwdriver behind, scaled down the building Spider-Man style, ran across campus with the gun under a towel, hid it in a backyard owned by Palantir, and then texted his lover in the language of a Jane Austen novel.
Gun-sniffing dogs couldn’t find the weapon. The FBI arrived and found it within minutes in the exact location.
Robinson was already in custody when the FBI claims he confessed on Discord/Reddit.
There are two versions of the text messages — “Text Messages 1.0” and “2.0” — suggesting they were rewritten after the fact.
The original plan, per the texts, was for Robinson to “go out in a blaze of glory” (be killed by police), but he turned himself in instead, forcing a rewrite.
Kirk had begun to wake up to the fact that TPUSA was a Zionist operation from the start. He turned down a reported $1 billion in funding, ordered a DOGE-style financial investigation into TPUSA’s shady accounting, and was starting to question whether Israel was truly in America’s interest.
Dore compares Kirk to Seth Rich — another case where asking questions is forbidden and framed as attacking a grieving family. He notes that Charlie Kirk was the first person to defend Glenn Greenwald when a fake sex tape was released against Greenwald — an act of decency Dore finds deeply moving.
Dore warns that social media influencers telling you Candace Owens is evil or that the official story is true are “corrupted on the take” — they are there to propagandize you into compliance.
